Ordering Information
Please note: If you are ordering a gown as a gift please involve the baby's parents in the design process. Another option is a gift certificate so they can design the gown of their dreams.
If you live in northwestern Ohio, southern Michigan, or northeastern Indiana, I would love to meet with you in person to design the gown of your dreams.
If you live elsewhere, call or Email me to ask questions or to start the process of ordering your custom made gown. Often, we can do most of the design process through Email or over the telephone for most instantaneous feedback. You may call be between 10 am and 8 pm (EST) Monday through Friday and we an start the design process. If I don't answer the phone, kindly let a message with your phone number and a good time for me to call you back.
Once we settle on design details, I should be able to give you a price for your gown and estimated shipping date via phone or Email within 48 hours. Remember that your gown is custom work and will take several weeks to complete. I recommend that you allow 4 to 6 weeks from the initial consultation to delivery. If I need to order specific fabric or laces, I may need additional time.
I will need some to the following measurements to make sure the gown fits your baby:
Hint: If you don't have a tape measure you can use a piece yarn, ribbon, or string and then place it on a ruler or yard stick.
- Baby's weight
- Baby's length
- Baby's age
- Neck: measure the distance around the neck at the base of the neck
- Chest: measure around the chest just under the arms
- Upper arm: measure around the upper arm at the arm pit
- Arm length: measure the length from the arm pit down to the wrist
For bonnets I may ask for the following measurements:
- Ear to ear across the back of the head (this is not the same as the head circumference at the pediatrician's office)
Gowns or other items that are personalized are non-returnable except for correction of mistakes. To minimize mistakes, I will need verification of correct personalization information either by email or regular mail prior to doing the embroidery.
Non-personalized gowns may be returned unworn in pristine condition if you are not satisfied but they must be postmarked within 3 days of delivery or I must have personally authorized a later shipping date via phone. I want you to be completely satisfied. This is why your involvement in the design process is essential.
All gowns will be shipped with a tracking number. I will Email or call you with the tracking information when your package is shipped.
- After we agree on a design I will need a check or money order for one half of the agreed upon cost up front. Then I will start on your gown. The remainder of the cost must be received prior to shipping the gown out.
- Rush orders (under 2 weeks) are $30.00 extra and require additional shipping charges for second day delivery.
- Personalization on the gown or slip is $10 for baby's name and birth or baptism date.
- Any patterns or leftover antique lace or fabric will be returned when the gown is shipped.
